A new bedtime story, every night, by SMS.

Dream Weaver writes a fresh story starring your kid and texts it to your phone in time for bedtime. No app to download. No screens for your child. Just open the message, read together, lights out. Here is how it all works.

How it works

The everyday questions.

Most of these are also answered in the in-app Help section once you sign in. The versions below go a little deeper.

How does Dream Weaver work?

Each evening, at the bedtime you set, Dream Weaver uses Google's Gemini AI to write a brand-new story starring your child. The story is generated using the interests, colors, and details you entered on the Profile page. We text a preview and a link to your phone from (833) 564-0781. Tap the link and the full story opens in your browser, ready to read aloud. There is no app to download, ever.

Your Dashboard always shows the latest story, and the Calendar holds every story we have ever written for your kid so you can re-read favorites.

What time does the story arrive?

At the bedtime you choose on the Profile page, adjusted to your timezone. If you set 7:30 PM, the SMS arrives at 7:30 PM. You can change the time or the timezone whenever you want from the Profile page. Changes take effect for the next scheduled story.

What ages is Dream Weaver designed for?

Roughly ages 3 to 8, with the sweet spot around 4 to 7. Premium users can pick from a few age-tuned variants ("toddler-simple", "early reader", "older kid") to match where your child is. The non-Premium default lands somewhere in the middle and works for most families.

How long are the stories?

Roughly three to five minutes of read-aloud time. Long enough to feel like a complete bedtime story, short enough to finish before anyone falls asleep mid-sentence (or stays too wound up to settle down).

Will the SMS wake up my child?

It is sent to your phone, not your child's. If you have your phone on silent during bedtime (most parents do), nothing wakes anyone up. The story is also waiting on your Dashboard if you prefer to pull it up that way instead of using the SMS.

How do I change my child's interests or the story time?

From the Profile page in the app. You can update the first name, interests, favorite colors, bedtime, and timezone at any time. Changes apply to the next scheduled story.

If you find a particular interest is producing stories your kid doesn't love, just swap it out. The AI takes its cues directly from this list.

How can I make the stories feel more personal?

A few angles:

  • Update the interests list when your kid's favorites shift (this happens often)
  • Set favorite colors so the imagery and palette match what they love
  • Premium only: use the Story Magic section on the Profile page to add specific details: friends' names, pets, recent events (a trip to the zoo, a new baby cousin), favorite toys. The AI weaves these in as it goes.

Can I continue a story from a previous day?

Yes. Visit the Calendar page, tap any past date, and you'll see a "Continue This Adventure" option. That past story becomes the seed for tonight's new one.

Premium users can also text MORE to (833) 564-0781 to continue the most recent story, or text ADD <your idea> to weave a new element into the current tale (a new friend, a sudden plot twist, whatever you want).

Premium SMS commands

Text these to (833) 564-0781.

NEW

Get a brand-new story on demand. Useful for the occasional second story or when bedtime gets moved.

MORE

Continue the most recent story. Carry the adventure into a second night with the same characters.

ADD <idea>

Weave a new element into the current story. Example: ADD a friendly dragon named Pip.

PAUSE

Stop SMS delivery and request account deletion. Available to everyone, not just Premium.

Premium users get up to 4 stories per day via these commands. Regular accounts get one nightly story.

Premium

What you get if you upgrade.

What does Premium unlock?

A handful of things that the once-a-night free version doesn't include:

  • Up to 4 stories per day, via the SMS commands above or by request
  • Story Magic personalization on the Profile page (friends, pets, recent events)
  • Additional story styles, including Rhyming, Silly, and others
  • Age-tuned variants for toddlers, early readers, and older kids
  • Audio narration in different character voices, so the story can play back if you need a hands-free moment

Premium is a monthly subscription via Stripe. See the Premium Page inside the app for current pricing.

How is Premium billed?

Monthly, via Stripe. Your card is charged the same day each month for as long as you stay subscribed. You can cancel any time from the Profile page or by emailing steve@skytech.io. After cancellation, you keep Premium features through the end of the current billing cycle.

Will my child see ads in the stories?

No. There are no ads in Dream Weaver, in either the free or Premium tiers. No banner ads, no in-story product placement, no affiliate links, no sponsored content. Bedtime is sacred and we want to keep it that way.

Safety & privacy

Why we think Dream Weaver is safe for your kid.

How do you ensure the stories are appropriate?

A layered approach:

  • Google Gemini's built-in safety filters automatically block harmful or adult content
  • Our story prompts (the instructions we give the AI) are explicitly written to produce whimsical, joyful, child-friendly content. No scary themes, no violence, no romance, no advertising.
  • Stories are short and self-contained, with consistent gentle endings (the hero gets home, falls asleep, or curls up with a friend)

No system is perfect. If you ever read something that feels off, please email steve@skytech.io and forward the story link. Steve fixes prompts based on real reports.

How do you handle our privacy and data?

Dream Weaver is designed to collect the minimum information needed to make the product work: your phone number, your child's first name and a few story-relevant details. We do not collect last names, addresses, photos, or anything sensitive. Children cannot sign in directly.

For the full data picture (sub-processors, retention, your rights), see the Dream Weaver privacy page.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Two ways, both lead to the same outcome:

  • Reply PAUSE to any story SMS from (833) 564-0781
  • Or open the in-app Help section and submit a deletion request through the form

We process deletions within 48 hours. After processing, your phone number, child profile, and entire Calendar are removed. This is irreversible.
